CBD Chocolate Chip Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies are a holiday-season staple, but they’re also great at any time of the year. Infusing your chocolate chip cookies with CBD makes them even better. Keep in mind that the CBD boiling point is between 320 and 356-degrees Fahrenheit, so it’s usually a good idea to keep your baking to around 300 degrees and preferably no higher than 320.
Ingredients
• 3 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour
• 1 cup of salted (softened) butter
• 1 cup of white organic cane granulated sugar
• 1 cup of light brown sugar (packed)
• 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• ½ teaspoon of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of natural sea salt
• 2 cups of chocolate chunks, chopped chocolate or chocolate chips
• Your preferred unflavored CBD oil – preferably a 3,000 mg or other high potency type so you don’t have to use as much
You can use whatever type of CBD tincture you want, but keep in mind if you’re using a 2 oz bottle of 1,000 mg then you’d only get 500 mg for using one ounce of it. If you’re using a 2 oz bottle of 4,000 mg then you’re getting 2,000 mg for using an ounce.
The less tincture you have to use, even of the unflavored varieties, the better your cookies are likely to taste.
This particular recipe should make 24 cookies, so divide your recipe strength by 24 for a per cookie dose. If you put 1,000 mg in your recipe then each cookie would be about 42 mg each.
CBD Cookies Baking Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees
2. In a medium to large sized bowl, mix together your flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder
3. In a separate large-sized bowl, mix together your sugar and brown sugar
4. Break your two large eggs into the sugar bowl and mix it all together
5. Add the vanilla into your egg and sugar mixture while you continue beating
6. Add your desired amount of CBD while continuing to mix
7. Once thoroughly mixed, carefully add the dry mixture from the other bowl into the bowl with the sugar, eggs and vanilla
8. Continue beating the contents of the bowl until everything is thoroughly mixed (keep in mind you want even CBD distribution)
9. Finally add in your two cups of preferred chocolate delivery method (we’re partial to chunks but chopped and chips works great too!)
10. Roll approximately two to three table spoons worth of the mixture together into balls and place the balls on a prepared cookie sheet (you can also use a cookie scoop if you have one)
11. Most cookie recipes will be at approximately 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes, but since you want to use relatively low heat – you can probably get away with 325 without evaporating off too much CBD – you’ll need to go longer. Start with 12 minutes.
12. Once your cookies are dull on top (no longer shiny) they are ready to remove from the oven.
13. Once finished, let the CBD cookies sit on the baking pan for at least two minutes before removing.
Some important notes:
• You want your CBD cookies to be soft and gooey so you don’t want to overbake, but they should be cooked since they do contain eggs – try not to overbake your cookies, even though this is a low-temp recipe!
• If you think cookies can be too salty consider using unsalted butter and make sure to use natural sea salt rather than iodized table salt.
